Our Educational Philosophy

Desert Shadows Middle School Philosophy

We believe the purpose of Desert Shadows Middle School is to provide an environment where students are encouraged to explore a variety of learning experiences and through these experiences to foster an awareness of themselves and a desire to develop their capabilities. We recognize that the Middle School years are a transitional period between the Elementary and the High School experiences and should serve as an introduction to maturity.

We believe that the school staff and administration should provide an atmosphere for each student to develop attitudes and a sense of appreciation, which lead to responsible curiosity, initiative, confidence, and interests.

We further believe that it is the responsibility of parents and community to provide the facilities and environment for students to learn. Lastly, we truly believe that when all of the above beliefs are operational, all students can learn.
