This is the "Unofficial-Official" page of The Lurking Shadow, Desert Shadows Middle School's campus newspaper, and the only campus newspaper in the entire AJUSD district!
At 'The Shadow,' as we like to call it, we use the same techniques, tools, and printer that "real world" newspapers use, while relying on the expertise of co-sponsor and former journalist, Jason Davis. Mr. Davis is a master at giving students proper direction for their stories, as well as editing content for proper use and placement in the paper.
This year at 'The Shadow' we are moving forward with our all-student editing staff. While Mr. Davis and I get the final say before Mrs. Hunt approves the paper as a whole, the student editors make important choices such as page layout and design, titles and headlines, and article assignments.
